Model Akan Datang Android OS Turns 1.5

Google's mobile operating system is getting an update to version 1.5. The new Android OS, which adds several noteworthy features, will be rolled out to owners of the T-Mobile G1 starting next week.

Key features in the new version of Android include video recording and playback, plus the ability to upload videos directly to YouTube. You'll also be able to upload photos captured with the G1's 3.2-megapixel camera directly to Picasa.

Other new features in Android 1.5 include an on-screen QWERTY keyboard (the G1 has a hardware keyboard, too); new widgets on the home screen; stereo Bluetooth support; batch editing in the Gmail application; and copy and paste functionality in the Web browser. Android 1.5 is also supposed to offer an overall refinement of the user interface, plus faster performance when using both the camera and any GPS-enabled applications.

The update is expected to be rolled out to all existing G1 phones by the end of the month.
